With technology only getting better and making our lives all the more convenient, it has it’s downside too. How many of our children prefer staying indoors and playing video games rather than being out? Most them would unless parents deliberately try keeping their kids away from all these gizmos. Good parenting doesn’t only mean having your kids go to the best of schools and scoring good marks. There’s a lot more to it.

When I was a kid, I was a major fan of sports and I am trying hard to impart the same passion that I had into my children. Unless kids are put into a sport, they will not be able to build that interest or passion for it and all it takes is for you to introduce them to it. Everything else just falls into place after that. It’s boosts their energy levels and to a certain extent helps them become more attentive at studying as well.

Football, swimming, badminton, lawn tennis, basketball, table tennis are all just some of the sports that you can get your kids into playing at a really young age. They learn how to be a part of a team and learn how to handle defeat and overcome competition. All of this cannot be taught otherwise in a classroom. They learn how to become tougher emotionally and learn first hand how giving up is not an option.

The pride that a parent gets from seeing their kid excel in a sport is worth a hundred times more than achieving an academic excellence. But sometimes, parents push too hard and that can be devastating as well. A child’s choices and interest should not be ignored. That is the worst that a parent can do. Consider their opinions as well and respect it.

Indoor games are not all that bad too, I sometimes sneak a quick game of online bingo whenever I get a bit of ‘me’ time. I have always enjoyed playing bingo and have been a fan of GameVillage Bingo for almost three years now. This bingo site also allows you play free bingo with no deposit required. After all, it is the best thing to do on a lazy or sunny afternoon, when your kids are away at school and your husband’s off at work.
